Back in December I made my Grammy picks and last night the results came in. All I can say is...YIKES! So clearly picking Grammy winners is not my thing. Oh well. Here's the recap:
Best Country Album:
Winner: Vince Gill These Days
Millie's Pick: Brad Paisley 5th Gear
That's what happens when you pick with your heart instead of your head. Oh well. I would pick this album again any day of the week for one song and for one reason.
Best Contempory R&B Album:
Winner: Ne-Yo Because of You
Millie's Pick: Akon
To be fair...I didn't actually miss this one. If you recall...I said that anyone but Akon would win and in fact...it was someone other than Akon who won.
Best Alternative Album:
Winner: The White Stripes
Millie's Pick: Lily Allen
The White Stripes are so overrated and their stuff all sounds the same. Oh well.
Best Rock Album:
Winner: The Foo Fighters
Millie's Pick: Daughtry
You are fucking kidding me? This one really pisses me off. There is no way that Daughtry should have lost this one. I hate the damn Foo Fighters! The real reason Daughtry lost...AI haters. Buuuuuurns!
Best Rock Solo Performance:Winner: Bruce Springsteen
Millie's Pick: Bruce Springsteen
Finally I got one! But this is barely a victory because you can't go wrong when you bet on Bruce.
Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group:

Millie's Pick: Daughtry

This one doesn't piss me off as much as the others because at least it makes a little sense.
Best Pop Vocal Album:

Millie's Pick: Bon Jovi of course!!
I didn't honestly think that I was going to get this one right. Bon Jovi is always the winner in my eyes.
Best Dance Recording:
Winner: Justin Timberlake
Millie's Pick: MIKA
I am okay with this one as well. I still love me some MIKA!
Best Female Pop Performance:Winner: Amy Winehouse
Millie's Pick: Christina Aguilera

There were no real bad choices in this category so no big deal. I am pissed that Bon Jovi didn't win but I didn't really think that they would. Makes Me Wonder is not a better song that Hey There Delilah no matter what the Grammy jerks think. Check the downloads on iTunes if you want proof.

If you remember...I picked Taylor Swift because I was sick of hearing about Amy Winehouse. I knew she would win...I just hoped like hell that I was going to be wrong.

Overall...the results were rather disappointing. I didn't actually watch the damn show so that makes me feel somewhat better. I can't complain too much since I used up all of my good karma for the year already on the NY Giants...so I am already expecting that everything I hope for will undoubtly crash and burn throughout the course of the year. But I digress...
So there it is. Proof that the Grammy's are joke and that I totally suck at predicting their winners. To once again quote the winners of the Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group "It really makes me wonder if I ever gave a f*** about you."
